DSEL issues circular against children dancing to ‘obscene songs’ in school programmes

This circular has been issued in response to a request from the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Swabhimani Bana in Bengaluru, urging the department to prohibit children from dancing to obscene songs.

The Department of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) has restricted children from dancing to ‘obscene songs’ during programmes such as annual day and any other cultural events in government, aided and private schools of the State.

The Director of Primary Education issued a circular and directed all schools to take necessary measures to ensure that children do not dance to any obscene songs.
