Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has reiterated that the State is not in competition with other Indian states, but with developed countries like China, Japan, Germany, Singapore and South Korea to achieve a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Exuding confidence that the State will attract investors from across the globe with its Telangana Rising 2047 policy, Mr. Reddy said that the government is striving to strengthen the State’s economy and ensure employment for the youth, besides providing quality healthcare and education for all.

Addressing the media after a meeting with ministers and officials on the ‘Telangana Rising 2047 document’ at Dr. BR Ambedkar State Secretariat on Sunday, the Chief Minister said: “We will dedicate an excellent policy to the nation that ensures transparency.”

“The government is making plans with lessons learned from past and the Telangana Rising vision document is being prepared to strengthen Telangana’s economy, with two main elements — vision and strategy. The document is being prepared with the help of ISB and NITI Aayog, involving all stakeholders,” Mr. Reddy said, and emphasised that Hyderabad should be transformed into a net zero city as well as a pollution-free city.

Vision document envisages the State into the three major development regions — Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri Urban Region Economy (PURE), and Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE) — he said that steps are being taken to prevent impending crises like air pollution within the CURE region, which falls within the Outer Ring Road (ORR). “Since CURE will be developed as a service-sector zone, we are planning relocating potentially polluting industries to promote sustainable growth,” he said, adding that initiatives like Musi River rejuvenation and Metro Rail expansion aim to enhance the quality of life and infrastructure within the CURE region.

He said that the Peri-Urban Regional Economy will host projects like Bharat Future City. “Greenfield express highways and bullet trains will drive economic growth. Strategic connectivity from Hyderabad to Machilipatnam Port in neighouring Andhra Pradesh will be improved, and new airports will be developed in Warangal, Adilabad, Kothagudem and Ramagundam,” he said, adding that the RARE would help the agri-hubs.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the Greenfield Express Highway from Hyderabad to Machilipatnam has received in-principle approval from the Centre. “Investments will be attracted through highways, ports, and airport connectivity and farmers will be made partners in Telangana’s development,” he added.
