Consumer electronics in Telangana are witnessing a wave of premiumisation ahead of the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) 2025, scheduled to begin on September 23. Shoppers in Hyderabad and across the State are increasingly choosing higher-end smartphones, smart TVs, wearables, and home appliances, signalling a shift towards advanced technology and lifestyle upgrades, said a release.
Amazon India reported double-digit growth in smartphone sales in Telangana, with Hyderabad leading demand for devices priced above ₹30,000. Premium home entertainment products saw a 45% surge. Wearables, too, recorded growth, with the mid-premium category (₹4,000 to 7,000) rising 60% and premium models (above ₹10,000) expanding by 50%,
To cater to the festive demand, Amazon has strengthened its presence in Telangana with three fulfilment centres, over 500 delivery stations, and 1,500 ‘I Have Space’ stores. More than 57,000 sellers from the State, including 18,000 local shops, are active on the platform, offering products across electronics, home, kitchen, and furniture categories, the release added.
