The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday (October 30, 2025) arrested an Executive Engineer from the Endowments Department while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1.9 lakh from a contractor.

The accused, identified as Voodepu Venkata Rama Rao, is serving as the Executive Engineer of Sri Laxmi Narsimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and also holds additional charge as the Superintending Engineer in the Endowments Department.

He was trapped by the ACB’s Nalgonda range team in front of a pharmacy in Medipally, Medchal–Malkajgiri district.

Investigators said Rao had demanded and accepted the bribe from a complainant as a reward for processing a bill amounting to ₹11.5 lakh (excluding GST), related to the installation of food machines at the Sri Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy Temple, Yadagirigutta.

The tainted money was recovered from his possession following the trap, confirming that the bribe was taken at his instance. He was subsequently arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is currently under investigation.

ACB’ phone numbers

The ACB has urged citizens to report any demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free helpline number 1064 or WhatsApp at 9440446106. Complaints can also be made via the bureau’s official social media handles, with assurances that the identities of complainants will be kept confidential.
