Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on Monday (September 15, 2025) condemned the assault on a YouTuber allegedly by BJP legislator and Minister Jivesh Mishra.

He alleged that the YouTuber, Dilip Kumar Sahani, was beaten up and abused by the Minister for asking questions on the poor condition of the roads in his Assembly constituency, Jaale in Darbhanga district, on Sunday (September 14, 2025) night.

Mr. Yadav visited Darbhanga and met Mr. Sahani. Later, he accompanied the vlogger to a police station to lodge a formal complaint against the Minister.

Earlier, Mr. Sahani had said that the local police had refused to file a case. At a press briefing, he showed a video as ‘evidence’ against the Minister. Mr. Mishra is seen in the footage.

“A YouTuber and journalist who belongs to the Sahani community in Singhwara of Jaale Assembly was beaten and abused by Jivesh Mishra which is a clear proof of jungle raj in Bihar. The only fault of the journalist was that he asked what kind of development work he has done in the last 10 years while being a Minister,” Mr. Yadav said.

The former Deputy Chief Minister accused the State government of protecting the corrupt.

Mr. Mishra said the allegations against him were “false” and that he will file a defamation case against Mr. Yadav.
