TDP rooted in principles laid down by NTR, says Rammohan Naidu

Union Minister of Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu said on Thursday that the emergence of TDP onto the political stage in 1982 was a sensation and it won the hearts of the people by being a principled party and fulfilling their expectations.

The TDP would ensure that the Central government programmes and funds reached the people of Andhra Pradesh as per the commitment given to them.

Moving the political resolution at the Mahanadu, Mr. Rammohan Naidu said the party was born to uphold the self-respect of the Telugu people and it strictly followed in the path laid down by its founder and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.

He recalled that the TDP came into existence to unseat the Congress party and created history by coming to power in nine months of its inception. He said the TDP was committed to the welfare of the Backward Classes and the weaker sections, and was accordingly striving to improve their living standards.

“The TDP has the responsibility to provide stable governance and under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu, it has succeeded in its endeavour,” Mr. Rammohan Naidu said.

Further, he said TDP national working president and IT Minister Nara Lokesh scripted history by bringing investments amounting to ₹23 lakh crore in two years.

Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said achieving the desired progress would be difficult for Andhra Pradesh without the Central support. Keeping it in view, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had been reaching out to the Centre for assistance and it came in no small measure.

Amaravati development

Speaking on the resolution on Central support to Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandra Sekhar said the Centre had allocated ₹15,000 crore in the Union Budget for Amaravati.

More importantly, the Centre gave Amaravati legal sanctity by passing the A.P. Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in Parliament amidst persistent attempts by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to throw a spanner in the capital city development works, the Union Minister said.

Besides, the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre provided the required funds for speedy execution of the Polavaram project, which was poised to be completed before the commencement of the Godavari Pushkarams in 2027. Mr. Chandra Sekhar said the Centre also helped in reviving the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) by giving it a special package worth ₹11,400 crore.

The government got 82 Centrally Sponsored Schemes restored by paying ₹12,000 crore and railway projects worth ₹20,000 crore were sanctioned for A.P. and they were in different stages of implementation, he said, adding that the Bhogapuram airport, South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone, Google data centre and the Amaravati railway line were taking tangible shape due to the cooperation of the Centre.
