The land of Tamil Nadu will teach a befitting lesson in the 2026 Assembly election to those who seek to spread hatred, said Communist Party of India State secretary M. Veerapandian on Friday.

Mr. Veerapandian told journalists that the BJP government at the Centre was undermining the values of parliamentary democracy by centralising power and waging a war on States’ rights.

He said the DMK’s alliance partners would stand firm with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in defending the State’s rights. “Tamil Nadu stands as an example of social harmony. Hindus, who are the majority in the State, will stand guard to protect the rights of minorities. To disrupt this harmonious relationship, the RSS-BJP ideologues continue to spread hatred,” he alleged, adding, “The people of Tamil Nadu will defeat them.”

According to him, Tamil Nadu had always been a land of unity and would not accept divisive narratives. The people of Tamil Nadu would teach a lesson to the BJP and those who had joined hands with it in the 2026 Assembly election, he added.
