The Tamil Nadu government has planned to hold an International Vallalar conference in Chennai in November or December. Over 10,000 Sanmarga devotees including 2,000 women are expected to participate in the conference, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekar Babu has said.
He was speaking after hoisting the Sanmarga flag and participating in the 203rd birth anniversary celebrations of Arutpragasa Vallalar Ramalinga Adigalar at Vadalur in Cuddalore district on Sunday (October 5, 2025).
Mr. Sekar Babu said the Chief Minister had allocated ₹99.99 crore for establishment of the Vallalar International Centre in Vadalur. After several court cases, construction work is underway in the “B” site area and this will be thrown open to devotees in December. The court had permitted construction work in “B” site based on the report submitted by the government.
The construction work in “A” site has been put on hold and the work will commence after court orders. With regard to site “A”, the government has already submitted a report on encroachments as directed by the court, he said, adding that justice will prevail and the work to establish the Vallalar International Centre will be done with an open mind.
The Minister said since the DMK came to power in 2021, the birth anniversary of Vallalar was observed as the benevolence day.
