MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced that Telangana Jagruthi will emerge as a political party. It will contest in the next Assembly Elections. She said there is a need for a political party in the State which works for the interest of people. She made the announced four months after resigning from the post of MLC and from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on September 3, 2025.

Prior to addressing media on Monday (January 5, 2025), she spoke in the Telangana Council about why she joined the agitation for a separate Telangana State, reasons for joining politics and BRS (then Telangana Rashtra Samithi), alleged ill treatment in the party, her father and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership, her family members and the issues she worked on.

Breaking down while speaking about the restrictions on her within the BRS following Bathukamma programme held after formation of the State, Ms. Kavitha said she did not receive support from party mouthpieces for her programmes.

Stating that Congress has attempted to paint her resignation and parting ways with BRS as a property dispute, she said her struggle is for self-respect. At the end, she said she wants to be of service to people, inspiration to women. “I am leaving the House. But I will return as a force. I will create a political system in Telangana,” said Ms. Kavitha.
