The Business Advisory Committee has decided to hold the year’s first Assembly session, which began on Monday (January 20, 2026), till January 24.

On Tuesday (January 21), the House would pay homage over the passing of industrialist Arunachalam Vellayan, poet and Sahitya Akademi award-winner Erode Tamilanban, Tamil cinema producer M. Saravanan, former Union Minister and Congress leader Shivraj Patil Chakurkar and DMK legislator K. Ponnusamy.

The House would debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address to the House on January 22 and 23. The reply to the debate is scheduled on January 24 and Bills, if any, would be taken up for consideration on that day.
