T.N. CM Stalin unveils foundation for new projects in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) unveiled the foundation for multiple projects to be implemented in Chennai at a total cost of ₹22 crore. He also inaugurated new projects completed at a cost of ₹8.6 crore in the State capital.

Under the North Chennai Development Programme, the Murasoli Maran Park in Perambur is set to be renovated by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) at a cost of ₹8.20 crore.

An ICDS centre, with a kitchen, is set to be established in Srinivasa Nagar Third Street by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in the Kolathur Assembly constituency at a cost of ₹1.40 crore from MLACDS, an official release said. Two multi-purpose centres would be established at various locations in G.K.M. Colony.

Mr. Stalin inaugurated new classrooms in GCC’s Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar Zone, as well as in Perambur. He also inaugurated amenities at the Mayor Munusamy playground in Rangasayee Street, and in Amithammal Colony. He unveiled a statue of Tamil saint-poet Tiruvalluvar in Somaya Street.

The Chief Minister distributed educational materials and laptops to students. He distributed medical assistance, three-wheelers, and other assistance to beneficiaries. He also launched the distribution of aid to students at Anitha Achievers Academy.

Minister P.K. Sekarbabu, Chennai Mayor R. Priya, MPs Kalanidhi Veeraswamy and R. Girirajan, legislators Thayagam Kavi, A. Vetriazhagan, and Joseph Samuel, other elected representatives and senior officials were also present.
