Three killed as lorry rams stranded goods vehicle on NH-163 in Telangana’s Jangaon

At least three people were killed in the early hours of Thursday (June 18, 2026) after a lorry rammed into a stationary goods carrier on National Highway 163 near Nellutla Bridge in Jangaon.

The deceased have been identified as Jhat Rohith, 22, a resident of Devaruppula; Donikeni Rajendar, 27, from Beerishetti Gudem in Dantalapally mandal; and Nanubala Mahesh, 22, from Bandakothapally in Gundala mandal. Mahesh was driving the goods carrier.

According to police, the accident was reported around 2 a.m. when the goods carrier which was transporting grocery items from Hyderabad to Devaruppula, suffered a tyre burst near the bridge. The vehicle came to a halt on the roadside, and the crew had stepped out to replace the tyre.

A speeding lorry, driven by a man identified as Sukendar in a rash and negligent manner, crashed into the stranded vehicle from the rear and the persons attending to the repair work.

All three persons died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.

The Lingala Ghanpur police have registered a case and initiated a detailed probe.
