
CM Stalin hands over appointment orders to trans persons inducted into Home Guard services in Chennai on Tuesday

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday (January 13, 2025) handed over appointment orders to transgender persons who have been trained and inducted into the Home Guard services. A total of 50 trans persons recently completed their training.
In the first phase, five of them will be deployed in Chennai, 15 in Tambaram, 10 in Avadi, seven each in Coimbatore and Madurai, and six in Tiruchi. They will be deployed in vehicular traffic regulation and crowd management during festivals, among others.
At another event, the Chief Minister distributed Pongal bonus to pensioners and family pensioners, who had served in temples under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department. He also launched new projects that have been completed at a cost of ₹80.62 crore by the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited.
Mr. Stalin also handed over an appointment order to a person who obtained employment through a camp organised by the Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department. With his appointment, a total of 3 lakh people have secured employment through such camps.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister K.N. Nehru, M.R.K. Panneerselvam, P. Geetha Jeevan, P.K. Sekarbabu, C.V. Ganesan, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, T. Mano Thangaraj, legislator N. Ezhilan, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, and senior officials were also present.
Earlier in the day, farmers’ representatives from various associations met the Chief Minister at the Kalaignar Centenary Park and thanked him for various welfare programmes being implemented by the government.
