A 39-year-old office boy was killed in a road accident at Bachupally on Saturday evening, after he fell from his motorcycle and was run over by a college bus.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay alias Nimai Bakti, a native of Assam, who had been working as an office boy at SSK Builders’ construction office at KVR Rainbow Colony, Bachupally, for the last 2.5 years. He stayed in the same locality.

The incident was reported around 4.20 p.m. on December 13 when Sanjay was travelling from KVR Rainbow Colony to Bachupally on his two-wheeler. When he was close to the ZPHS Government School, he allegedly lost control of his bike and fell on the road due to a self-skid.

At that moment, a KLH University bus bearing registration number TG08T3673, which was travelling from Pragathi Nagar Road towards Bachupally Road, driven at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner, ran over his head.

Police said that the victim was crushed under the left rear tyre of the bus, causing severe head injuries and resulting in his instant death.

The bus driver, identified as P. Srinivas Rao, a resident of Indramma Colony, Phase I, Nizampet, Bachupally, was arrested.

A case has been registered against him, and further investigation is underway.
