The Election Commission of India (ECI), on Monday (March 16, 2026), directed the Tamil Nadu government’s Chief Secretary to post four officers as new Superintendents of Police (SPs) for Erode, Karur, Nagapattinam and Virudhunagar districts.

In a communication, the Commission directed that D.V. Kiran Shruthi should be posted as Erode SP, D.N. Harikiran Prasad be posted as Karur SP, Sujith Kumar be posted as Nagapattinam SP and N. Shreenatha be posted as Virudhunagar SP.

These officers are to join and compliance was to be sent to the Commission by 11 a.m. on March 17. “The officers transferred out [of the districts] shall not be in any election related posts till the completion of election,” the communication added.
