Swarnandhra College hosts national-level hackthon

A national-level hackathon, organised by the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics at Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology in Seetharamapuram village of Narasapuram mandal, was inaugurated on Tuesday (March 17, 2026).

An Auto Expo showcasing various customised vehicles is also part of the two-day event, which is being conducted with the support of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

The organisers said that the main objective of the hackathon was to enhance students’ innovative thinking, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Students from across the country were participating and would get an opportunity to develop new ideas and projects in the fields of AIML, Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, they added.

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K. Madhu Murthy, ASME Asian Head S. Ganesh and Principal, APSCHE Anil Kumar were present on the occasion. ASME representatives G. Nandagopal (Mentor), L. Ashwath (Software Engineer), Sushanth Kumar Sahoo (Software Engineer) and V. Shivaraman (Professor, IIT Madras) were also involved in organising the hackathon.

College Chairman K.V. Satyanarayana, treasurer K. Venkateswara Swamy, Director Addala Srihari, management members T.V.V. Prasad and S. Keerthi Kumar, Principal S. Suresh Kumar, Vice-Principal A. Gopichand, AIML head Bomma Rama Krishna, Mechanical wing head Francis Luther King, along with coordinators, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students were also present.
