TTD Board Chairman B.R. Naidu, who declared the facilities open, explained that the three-storeyed godown, measuring 37,000 sq. ft., was built with ₹10.65 crore to house medical/general stores, cold storage units, offices and a conference hall, meant to efficiently manage the medical supplies.

Similarly, the patient attendants’ rest house got a second and third floor with ₹4.40 crore to accommodate 300 attendants. People accompanying patients coming for treatment from far-off places were provided food and accommodation here.

The central laboratory system is under construction. Once completed, all lab facilities will come under one roof.

SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor R.V. Kumar said plans were afoot to complete the staff quarters, a central kitchen, 350 additional beds, five operation theatres, five ICUs and an advanced cancer care building, with the support of the TTD.
