The Princess Krishnajammanni Super Speciality Hospital, functioning under the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCRI), in Mysuru, has been upgraded with advanced hi-tech equipment on par with private and corporate hospitals to enhance patient care.

The newly introduced facilities include a neuro cath lab, designed for advanced neurological procedures such as stroke management, as well as lithotripsy equipment for non-invasive kidney stone treatment. The addition of these facilities enables the hospital to offer specialised treatment to patients visiting the hospital.

The developments were highlighted during a review meeting chaired by MLA, K. Harish Gowda at MMCRI in Mysuru on Tuesday.

To ensure the seamless functioning of the sophisticated equipment, the hospital has appointed expert technicians on contract, enabling uninterrupted services for patients.

MMCRI dean and director K.R. Dakshayani said, “The super speciality hospital is fully equipped with hi-tech equipment and expert technicians. Patients can make full use of theese services.”

She further stated that an additional MRI machine worth ₹8 crore is being added to the hospital through a donation. At present, one MRI machine is available at Krishna Rajendra Hospital, and the new installation at the super speciality hospital will strengthen diagnostic services, she added.

In total, outpatient services across all five hospitals under MMCRI cater to over 2,200 patients daily, the director said.

She also noted that additional ventilators and warmers have been sought for Cheluvamba Hospital to improve healthcare facilities.
