Kannada medium students who have scored 625 out of 625 in the SSLC examination will be taken for a study tour by Karnataka Bal Vikas Academy, chairman of the Academy Sangamesh Babaleshwar has said.

Speaking at the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations at the office of Karnataka Bal Vikas Academy in Dharwad on Saturday, Mr. Sangamesh Babaleshwar said that those who had scored 100 percent marks in SSLC examination (Kannada medium) should register their names at the central office of the Academy by November 14.

He said it was the priority of the academy to encourage students of Kannada medium and students of rural government schools, who had excelled in various examinations and fields. He also said that it was the responsibility of everyone to uphold the Kannada ethos by regularly using Kannada language and strengthening the Kannada medium schools.

Mr. Babaleshwar said that preservation of Kannada language and land was the responsibility of everyone and each should contribute in their own way to the cause.

Officials of the Academy Annapurna Sangalad, Pushpa Hanjagi, Subhash Chandaragi and others were present.

Later speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Sangamesh Babaleshwar said that along with the top scorers of Kannada medium, the academy would be taking around 40 children, who had excelled in various fields and had emerged winners in various events held by the Academy. The plan was to increase the incentives to Kannada medium students in the days to come, he said.
