Retired Information Commissioner Hiralal Samariya has appealed to students to emerge as guiding lights of future society.

Addressing the 44th State Convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad at Ongole on Friday, Mr. Samariya said students had the power to propel India forward as the world’s fourth-largest and a powerful economy. He recalled the pivotal role played by the youth in strengthening the country’s capabilities in science and technology and urged them to serve as cultural ambassadors to reinforce the nation’s cultural roots.

Calling upon students to place national interest above all else, he said they must stand by the nation and commit themselves to its development across all sections of society. Students should be prepared to make sacrifices to put the country first, he added.

ABVP national co-organising secretary Balakrishna, office-bearers Ramana Reddy, secretary Hanumantha Rao, State secretary Gopi and others participated.
