Students of the Shaheen Undergraduate Science College, Bidar, have made remarkable performances in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), with Muhammad Sajid Akbar emerging as the institution’s top scorer with 653 marks.
According to the college, Sajid Akbar secured an All-India rank of 1,271 and was placed 100th in the OBC category. Other top performers include Ansari Areeb (641 marks), Aribah Azmat (638 marks), Mainak Kundu (632 marks), Syed Hamdan (629 marks), Pathan Sohail Khan (628 marks) and Adeeb Hamid (626 marks).
Chairman of the Shaheen Group of Educational Institutions, Abdul Qadeer, said around 448 students from the college are expected to secure government quota medical seats this year. He claimed that the institution would account for 13% to 14% of the government medical seats in Karnataka and has secured around 6,000 government quota medical seats over the past 12 years.
Five students, including Mainak Kundu, Syed Hamdan, Mohammad Adil Farhan, Firdous Multani and Syed Ahmed, scored a perfect 360 out of 360 marks in Biology.
Mr. Qadeer attributed the results to the institution’s academic environment, NEET coaching, faculty support, cooperation from parents and the commitment of students.
Talent search exam on July 26
The institution also announced that it would conduct the Shaheen Talent Search Examination on July 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. across the Shaheen undergraduate colleges in the State. Students securing high scores will be eligible for up to 100% tuition fee waiver, with additional concessions for rural and Kannada-medium students from the Kalyana Karnataka region, Mr. Qadeer said.
