A 19-year-old student from Mankulam in Idukki was found dead inside her hostel room at Kothamangalam on Sunday (November 9, 2025). The deceased was identified as Nandana Hari, a first-year BBA student of Indira Gandhi Arts and Science College, Nellikkuzhi.

She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her hostel room, located on the college campus, by the hostel warden in the morning. The body was shifted to the Government Medical College, Ernakulam. A police case of unnatural death has been registered.

Meanwhile, Nandana’s father, Hari, has raised suspicions about her death. College Principal Viji K. Ramakrishnan said that Nandana had been staying in a room shared by four students, while the others had gone home for study leave. She added that the teachers had not noticed anything unusual about her.
