The State government is committed to strengthening the Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs), and finding a permanent solution to ‘Podu land’ issue in tribal areas, said Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar.

Mr. Laxman Kumar, along with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister D. Anasuya Seethakka, paid floral tributes to the statue of legendary Adivasi leader Kumuram Bheem at Jodeghat in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district on Monday, on the occasion of his 86th death anniversary

The government would take steps to improve roads, drinking water and other basic infrastructure in Agency areas, and ensure adequate budgetary allocations for tribal welfare and development, he said.

Describing Kumuram Bheem as a valiant leader who fought for tribal rights over Jal, Jangal and Zameen, Ms. Seethakka said working to realise his ideals would be a fitting tribute to the great Adivasi leader.
