Students from SRM University-AP won three gold medals at the 85th All India Inter-University Athletics Championships 2025-26, held in Mangaluru.

A university statement issued on Friday said Anamika, an MBA student from the Paari School of Business, secured the gold medal in the heptathlon with 5,158 points. Aditya, pursuing a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology at the Easwari School of Liberal Arts, clinched gold in the javelin throw with a best effort of 74.43 metres. Mubasina Muhammed, a B. Com. student from the Paari School of Business, won gold in the long jump with a leap of 6.15 metres.

Director of Sports Vir Ji Koul described the gold medals as important milestones in the students’ lives and congratulated the winners for their hard work and perseverance, which, he said, made them champions and brought glory to the University.

Vice-Chancellor Ch. Satish Kumar praised the dedication, discipline and excellence of the student athletes, along with the consistent support and guidance of trainers and coaches. He congratulated the winners for enhancing the University’s reputation and said that SRM University-AP, with its holistic approach to education focusing on academic, emotional and physical well-being, was setting benchmarks for sporting excellence at national and international levels.
