Somu Veerraju appointed BJP floor leader in the Legislative Council

MLC Somu Veerraju has been appointed as the BJP floor leader in the Legislative Council. The decision was taken at a meeting of BJP MPs, MLAs, and MLCs presided over by the party’s national joint general secretary Shiv Prakash, according to an official release.

Apart from Mr. Veerraju, the BJP has two other MLCs — Zakia Khanam and Pothula Suneetha — both of whom recently quit the YSR Congress Party. Mr. Veerraju earlier served as the president of the Andhra Pradesh BJP and is currently a member of the party’s national executive committee.
