The deities of Lord Kapileswara and Goddess Kamakshi mounted on Simha Vahanam are ready for a procession in Tirupati on Tuesday, as part of the annual nine-day Brahmotsavams at the TTD’s Kapila Theertham temple.

The deities of Sri Somaskanda Murthy were taken on Simha Vahanam on the streets of Tirupati on Tuesday evening as part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at the TTD’s Kapila Theertham temple.
The temple city has adorned a festive look over the last couple of days, as the annual festival at two prominent temples — Sri Kalyana Venkateswara temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram and Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple in Kapila Theertham — are currently on. In fact, the festivities at these two shrines run concurrent every year.
On the third day of the nine-day event, the bejewelled set of deities was mounted on Simha Vahanam, a dazzling celestial carrier resembling a ferocious lion, and was paraded on the streets of Tirupati. The eye-catching floral arrangement over the carrier caught the attention of the devotees, who erupted in spiritual ecstasy.
In the morning, the deities of Sri Somaskanda Murty were taken on Bhoota Vahanam, while the deity of Kamakshi Ammavaru was taken out separately on a ‘Tiruchi’.
