The staff members of the Bengaluru’s Namma Metro helped reunite a six-year-old girl with her mother after the two got separated at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station, Majestic, on Friday.

According to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the incident occurred at around 12.30 p.m., when the child lost contact with her mother amid the busy crowd at the interchange station.

They were together at the Majestic station when they accidentally got separated while boarding the train. The mother realised her daughter had been left behind at the majestic station itself.

“A vigilant passenger noticed the girl alone and immediately handed her over to the metro’s security personnel at the Majestic station,” a senior official said.

Upon receiving the information, the station staff swiftly alerted all station controllers across the network to help locate the child’s mother. Within a short span, the mother was traced to the Mahakavi Kuvempu metro station.

“Through good coordination among metro officials, security personnel, and station controllers, the child was safely reunited with her mother at Majestic station. Although the girl was initially frightened, our team immediately began efforts to trace her mother and ensure their reunion. Effective communication between departments helped us resolve the situation soon,” an official said.

Meanwhile, the BMRCL officials also appreciated the alertness of the passenger who brought the child to the staff and helped the metro team handle the situation.

On average, around 65,000 commuters use the Majestic Metro Station daily, making it the busiest interchange in the network, connecting the Green and Purple lines.
