A detailed investigation by the B.K. Singh-led Special Investigation Team will reveal the truth behind the alleged electoral revision fraud in some Assembly seats in the State, MLC and Congress leader Saleem Ahmed said in Hubballi on Sunday.

“The SIT will take up investigation of the alleged electoral fraud in Aland and Mahadevpura constituencies. We are confident that the complete truth will emerge out of it,” Mr. Ahmed said.

He told reporters that the State government will initiate action against those found guilty by the SIT.

“The Central government and the Election Commission together have created a lot of problems. They have systematically rigged the electoral revision process in the country. That is why Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has given detailed information during his press meet about the alleged irregularities. He has provided enough data and statistics,” he claimed.

Responding to a query on the social and educational survey that is supposed to begin across the State, Mr. Ahmed said that the apprehensions expressed by the Opposition are unfounded.

“We will make sure that no community or group suffers injustice,” he said. “We believe in the Constitutional principle of equality and equal opportunity. We will make sure that justice is provided to all sections of society,” he said.
