Bhadravathi Police, on Saturday (February 7, 2026), arrested a rowdy-sheeter, facing several criminal cases, and his associates, after opening fire at them as they tried to escape after attacking the policemen.

Three policemen, including two PSIs, suffered injuries in the incident, while Mubarak, alias Dicchi, a rowdy-sheeter, sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg. According to the police, Mubarak has been accused in over 15 cases, including murder, attempted murder, and extortion.

Bhadravathi DySP Prakash Rathod received information about Mubarak and his associates attempting a robbery on Saturday (February 7, 2026) afternoon. The officer formed a team of his subordinates to apprehend the accused. The team encountered the suspects near Shivani Cross in the town around 7 p.m.

According to the police, Mubarak and his associates tried to escape by throwing stones at the officers. They even attempted to attack them with a knife. Siddappa M.P., PSI of Hosmane Police Station, suffered a hairline fracture in his leg during the attack. Similarly, Krishna Kumar B. Mane, PSI of Paper Town Police Station, sustained injuries to his hand. Head Constable Adarsha also suffered injuries to his leg.

“Despite being injured in the attack, the team members continued their efforts to apprehend the accused. Krishna Kumar, PSI, appealed to the prime accused to surrender and also fired a warning shot into the air. When the accused did not relent, he shot him in the right leg,” said Shivamogga SP B. Nikhil.

The police succeeded in arresting Mubarak’s associates Zaheer, Rahmat Pasha, Junaid and Manu Singh. The injured police officers are out of danger. They are under treatment in Bhadravathi. Mubarak is also out of danger, according to the police.

The SP has appreciated the police team for arresting the accused, despite they being attacked.
