In view of the heavy rain forecast for several districts, several districts in Tamil Nadu have announced school holiday on Monday (November 24, 2025)

District Collector M.S. Prasanth has declared holiday for schools in Kallakurichi district on Monday.

Ramanathapuram District Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon declares one-day holiday for schools due to heavy rain.

Puducherry Home Minister A. Namassivayam has declared holiday for schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal regions on Monday due to rain.

In view of the heavy rain forecast for several districts, the Tamil Nadu government has deputed three teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Ramanathapuram districts, an official release said. The government has instructed the Collectors of these districts to take precautionary measures. While two SDRF teams have been deputed to Thoothukudi, one team has been sent to Tirunelveli.

With the Northeast monsoon intensifying in southern districts, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanniyakumari districts have been experiencing widespread rainfall.
