On Friday (March 13, 2026) maximum temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius and above were recorded at several locations across the State. Amravati in Vidarbha recorded a maximum temperature of 41.8°C, which is 6.4 degrees above normal. Nandurbar in Madhya Maharashtra recorded 41.5°C. In Madhya Maharashtra, Solapur recorded 40.1°C (+2.8) and Malegaon 40.0°C (+3.6).

According to the weather bureau, a change in weather patterns is anticipated from the afternoon of March 17, 2026. Regions including Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh, and parts of Central Maharashtra are expected to be affected by rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds between March 17 and 20. The activity is expected to be more pronounced from March 18 to 20. Farmers have been advised to take precautions to protect harvested crops.

Overcast conditions are predicted, with the possibility of rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds. The forecast also indicates a chance of hailstorms in some areas during this period.

The Agriculture Department has issued an advisory for farmers. With the harvesting of Rabi crops in progress, farmers are urged to secure their produce. Storing harvested crops in a safe place or ensuring they are covered is advised to prevent damage from wind and rain. The department has asked farmers to follow all necessary measures to protect their crops from the predicted weather events. Farmers are also advised to monitor regular weather updates in the coming days to plan their operations.
