A 36-year-old mechanic escaped unhurt after a battery exploded at a battery repair shop in Navalpur village near Ranipet town. The explosion triggered fire and destroyed at least seven e-bikes.
The police said that R. Gopal, a mechanic, was checking the condition of batteries at the shop when the explosion happened.
