Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K. Madhu Murthy on Thursday said semiconductors are the silent engines that drive innovation.
Addressing the inaugural session of a National Semiconductor Technology Symposium at VIT-AP University, Prof. Murthy said, “We stand on the cusp of a technological revolution. The Andhra Pradesh government’s focussed efforts to build a resilient semiconductor ecosystem are laying the foundation for India’s leadership in next generation technologies.”
He said the three-day event demonstrated the government’s eagerness to harness the semiconductor frontier through India-centric innovation, strategic collaboration, and a future-ready infrastructure.
Vice-Chairman of CII-AP and Executive Director, Apex Solutions Narendra K. Saranam called the symposium a timely initiative, as India accelerates its journey towards becoming a global semiconductor hub.
With the government’s strategic push to develop robust infrastructure and policy frameworks, events like these play a critical role in shaping the dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers, he said.
President, iTAAP and CEO, Inventiz Indrajit Anne said that this event aims to bring together leading academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and students from across the country to deliberate on the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in semiconductor technology.
Founder & MD of Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd., D. Ramakrishna, said If semiconductor manufacturing finds a home in Amaravati, it will ‘not only place our region on the global tech map but also unlock thousands of high-quality jobs across design, fabrication, testing, and allied services’.
Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University, S.V. Kota Reddy said the event was a first-of-its-kind in the region, bringing together a congregation of experts from the semiconductor technology and application domains.
The symposium organised on the theme ‘Harnessing Semiconductor Frontiers through India-Centric Innovation’ is a joint initiative by VIT-AP University and Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd and it is supported by DST – Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), VVDN Technologies, IEEE VIT-AP Student Branch, and the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S).
The meeting offered a common platform to more than 400 participants, including 20 industry representatives from leading global and national companies, including AMD, Altera, Ansys, ARM, BEL, CII, Cyient Semiconductors, GSAS, HCL Technologies, Kyosan, ITAAP, MicroChip, NXP, PTC, Phillips, STARC, Siemens, Silicon Labs, Silicon Systems, and WnP Technologies.
Vice-Chancellor of Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, P. Venkateswara Rao, Director IIEC, D Ameet Chavan, Dean-School of Electronic Engineering (SENSE) of VIT-AP Umakanta Nanda, Chief Manager Siemens Saravanan Jayaraman were also present.
