Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat said strengthening self-governance at the local level was essential to address day-to-day issues in residential colonies.

As part of the ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam’ programme, Mr. Sribharat visited the Rajiv Swagruha residential complex in Santhoshimatha Colony in the 45th Ward and interacted with residents. He explained the welfare and development programmes of the coalition government and distributed pamphlets on its initiatives.

He also visited the JNNURM housing complex and enquired about residents’ living conditions and problems. He said infrastructure-related issues concerning the 216 houses would be brought to the notice of the GVMC authorities for resolution.

Mr. Sribharat urged residents to strengthen self-governance through their residents’ society, maintain cleanliness and ensure water pipelines and drainage systems remained free of blockages. He said collective responsibility would help maintain a clean and well-managed residential environment.
