Satellite communications and defence electronics firm Avantel has opened a facility in Hyderabad to expand its capabilities in developing aerospace and defence technologies.

300 direct and over 1,000 indirect jobs

Design, development and manufacturing of software-defined radios (SDRs), radar systems and satellite integration will be focus of the 76,000 sq ft facility that has been established on a four acre land parcel. Set up with an investment of ₹56 crore in E-City, Raviryal, in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, the facility is expected to generate 300 direct jobs and more than 1,000 indirect jobs, the technology solutions provider to aerospace and defence sectors said on Tuesday (September 7,2025).

Boost to atmanirbhar Bharat

The new facility will support assembly, integration and testing (AIT) of satellites and enable establishment of ground station as a service (GSaaS) for satellite data reception. For the company, the plant will expand capabilities across multiple domains while aiming, in line with the Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, to improve operational efficiency, promote innovation and support Avantel’s long-term strategy for developing indigenous technologies in defence and aerospace.

“It will further strengthen our capabilities in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers across diverse domains, thereby developing world-class indigenous technologies,” director Siddhartha Abburi said, reiterating the company’s commitment towards the ‘Make in India’ vision. The inauguration supports Avantel’s focus on building a resource pool for in-house research and development and proprietary product development.
