Senior IPS officer, V.C. Sajjanar, took charge as Commissioner of Hyderabad Police on Tuesday (September 30, 2025). He succeeds C.V. Anand — who was appointed as Special Chief Secretary, Home Department. The transfers and appointments of IPS officers were effected by the Telangana government recently.

Addressing the media at a press conference at Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) in Hyderabad in the afternoon, the new Police Commissioner recalled his stint as Cyberabad Police Commissioner and hoped people will cooperate now too.

Mr. Sajjanar spoke about ‘people welfare police’, drug menace, women safety, economic offences, cyber crimes, adulteration, traffic and other challenges the city is facing. Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) would be strengthened, coordination with units in other States working against the menace will be focused.
