Award for Prashant Bhushan – The Hindu

Retired judge N. Santosh Hegde will present the Samaj Parivarthan Samudaya (SPS) Endowment’s Mahasangrami S.R. Hiremath Award to senior counsel in the Supreme Court Prashant Bhushan in Dharwad on Tuesday.

The award will be presented to the activist-advocate during the inaugural function of the endowment at the Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha at 11 a.m.

SPS working president Basavaprabhu Hosakeri told reporters in Dharwad on Sunday, Karnataka State Law University Vice-Chancellor C. Basavaraju will inaugurate the endowment.

Citizens for Democracy president Anandkumar will attend the function as the chief guest and advocate K.G. Navalgimath will preside over the function.

SPS founder-president S.R. Hiremath will be present.

The award carries a cash prize of ₹1 lakh along with a memento.

Law students will be given an opportunity to interact with Mr. Bhushan, he said.
