Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman A. Ravi Naidu on Tuesday announced that an indoor stadium would be constructed in Rajamahendravaram at an estimated cost of ₹53 crore. He said steps were also being taken to develop water sports infrastructure in the city.

Mr. Ravi Naidu was in the city to release the logo of the International Dragon Boat League (IDBL) 2026, which will be hosted on the river Godavari in Rajamahendravaram.

Addressing a joint press conference, Rajamahendravaram MP D. Purandeswari and City MLA Adireddy Srinivas said that around 12,000 athletes from 25 countries are expected to participate in the league.

They also released the logo and launched the official campaign for the league, which will be jointly organised by Think Outside, an association for water sports, and the National Kayaking and Canoeing Association.
