As many as 14 lakh people are expected to attend the four-day annual festival ‘Rottela Panduga,’ which will begin on June 26, 2026, in Nellore. The Festival Committee, under the leadership of A.P. Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, has pledged to make arrangements prioritising sanitation and ensuring no inconvenience to the devotees.

District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajitha Vejendla on Tuesday (June 23) held a review meeting on security arrangements for the festival. As lakhs of devotees are expected to attend—irrespective of caste or religion—she directed the officials to take necessary measures for devotee safety, traffic control, and the maintenance of law and order.

She instructed the officials to implement robust security measures to ensure devotees face no inconvenience. She ordered the establishment of a command and control system near the Dargah premises and surrounding areas to continuously monitor via CCTV cameras and drones. She advised to set up specific parking zones and installation of notice boards.

Meanwhile, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana, who recently visited Bara Shaheed Dargah, said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu had allocated ₹5 crore for its development immediately after the alliance government assumed power. He alleged that the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders had completely neglected the Dargah during their regime.

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy stated that he has been a devotee of the Dargah for 30 years and had fought for its development during the previous government’s tenure. Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz recalled that the foundation for projects such as Swarnala Cheruvu ghats, restrooms, and a convention centre—costing ₹20 crore—was laid back in 2014.
