Former Minister and JD(S) leader H.D Revanna quoted a popular Kannada movie song Naane Saakida Gini, Haddagi Kukkitallo — which translates to “the parrot that he raised ended up pecking him like a hawk” — to refer to Shivalinge Gowda, Arasikere MLA, of the Congress.

Speaking at a party workers’ meeting in Belur of Hassan district on January 11, Mr. Revanna said, “There are some politicians in Hassan who betrayed the trust.”

The meeting was convened as part of the preparations for the party’s rally scheduled to be held in Hassan on January 24.

Mr. Revanna stated that the Congress government held two rallies in Hassan, leaving out all other districts, with the objective of weakening the JD(S) in former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s native place. The people of the district will always stand by the JD(S), considering the development works the party leaders brought to the district, he stated.

JD(S) district president K.S. Lingesh and others were present.
