Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday directed officials to replicate the Net-Zero model being implemented at Nalagampalli village of Kuppam mandal across the Kuppam Assembly constituency, calling it a sustainable development initiative that could emerge as a benchmark for Andhra Pradesh.

On the second day of his three-day visit to his home constituency, Mr. Naidu inspected households that adopted rooftop solar panels, induction cooktops, rainwater harvesting systems, kitchen composting units and terrace gardens.

Expressing satisfaction at the ground results, the Chief Minister informed the officials to submit a detailed case study on the village. “It can be used as a blueprint for expanding the initiative throughout the constituency,” Mr. Naidu said.

During an interaction with the beneficiaries and officials, he was briefed about the solar power generation and household consumption. The villagers informed the Chief Minister that using induction stoves powered by rooftop solar installations helped them save nearly ₹400 every month on energy expenses.

The Chief Minister further reviewed composting, kitchen gardens and terrace farming, and suggested incorporating electric vehicles into the Net-Zero ecosystem.

Stressing the importance of a circular economy, Mr. Naidu directed the officials to promote efficient resource utilisation and sustainable waste management at the village level.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that the planned expansion of rooftop solar systems in Kuppam would benefit 7,489 Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes families, 39,215 Backward Classes families, and 7,381 families from other communities.
