Four doctors have been taken into custody for their suspicious involvement in the Red Fort bomb blast.

Doctors with medical degrees from foreign universities have come under the scanner, as the Delhi police sought their details from healthcare centres in the Capital on Wednesday (November 19, 2025).
The move comes amid the police probing the doctors’ links with the terror networks following four doctors taken into custody for their suspicious involvement in the Red Fort Bomb blast case.
Officials said both government and private healthcare facilities have been asked to provide comprehensive information on medical staff who obtained qualifications abroad, specifically degrees from Pakistan, Bangladesh, the UAE and China.
Healthcare staff from various hospitals told The Hindu that foreign medical graduates have been questioned over the past few days. “Besides probing possible links with terror networks, the police are also examining issues related to corruption and misappropriation of funds within certain institutions. No resident doctor has been detained so far,” said a resident doctor at a private hospital in Delhi, requesting anonymity.
IMA expels tainted doctor
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has expelled Dr. Shaheen Saeed from the organisation following allegations of her involvement in ‘anti-national activities’, according to an official notification. Ms. Saeed had been a life member of the IMA’s Kanpur branch.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has removed the names of the suspects – Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr. Shaheen Saeed – in the bomb blast case from the National Medical Register.
