The Rajasthan government has decided to strengthen arbitration proceedings in the litigation involving its departments and statutory authorities. The formulation of a new policy on the subject is also being considered, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas said here on Saturday (December 20, 2025).

Mr. Srinivas, who reviewed the implementation of the State Litigation Policy-2018 at a high-level meeting here, said the State government would evolve a better coordination among the departments to reduce the pendency of cases. “Proper attention will be paid to the compliance of court orders, execution and arbitration,” he said.

The Chief Secretary said a centralised registry system should be used for ensuring systematic, secure and efficient management of files and records in the High Court and other courts. The activity should be undertaken in consultation with the Advocate General and the Additional Advocates General.

Mr. Srinivas laid emphasis on organising regular training and capacity-building programmes for the officials handling the State litigation. An efficient teamwork between the government departments and legal fraternity would also help in the fast disposal of cases, he said.

With its focus on streamlining litigation management and promoting alternative dispute resolution, the State Litigation Policy serves as an authoritative reference for legal conduct and deals with the appointment of counsels for different categories of cases. The policy applies to the State and its functionaries before the courts, tribunals and arbitration forums.

Advocate General Rajendra Prasad, Principal Law Secretary Raghvendra Kachhwal, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant and Revenue Secretary Joga Ram were among those who attended the meeting.
