Railway police nab four for alleged theft

The Ernakulam Railway police on Sunday (January 11) arrested four people in three cases of alleged theft of laptops and mobile phones.

Rajasekharan Cheruvallil, 55, of Kunnathunad and Martin Kuruvanthra, 56, of Kaloor, were arrested for allegedly stealing a laptop from a passenger onboard the Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Express on Saturday (January 10). Noor Ali, 24, and Noor Islam Sheikh, 25, of Murshidabad in West Bengal, were nabbed for allegedly stealing mobile phones from Vivek Express and Malabar Express on Saturday.

Alleged stolen items worth ₹2 lakh were seized from the accused, the police said. A team comprising DySP George Joseph, Inspector Balan K. and Sub Inspector E.K. Anilkumar is investigating the cases.
