Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will be on a two-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from April 26, during which he is expected to highlight concerns over the Centre’s ₹81,000-crore Great Nicobar Holistic Development Project.

During the visit from April 26 to 28, Mr. Gandhi will also travel to Great Nicobar Island, said Manickam Tagore, the in-charge of the Congress’ affairs in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The former Congress chief is expected to highlight concerns over the Centre’s ambitious ₹81,000 crore Great Nicobar Holistic Development Project, which has sparked debates over its potential impact on the region’s fragile ecology.
