In north interior Karnataka, Kalaburagi recorded a maximum of 41.7°C against the normal maximum temperature of 40.2°C with a departure of 1.5°C.

There seems to be no respite from the intense summer heat as five districts in the State recorded a maximum temperature of more than 40°C on Sunday.
According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), four districts in north interior Karnataka and one district in south interior Karnataka saw the mercury rising above the 40°C mark.
