Quantum ecosystem in Amaravati will benefit generations, says APSCHE chief

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K. Madhu Murthy on Friday said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was spearheading the development of Amaravati as a Quantum Valley.

“The relentless efforts of the government to build a sustainable quantum ecosystem will not only benefit the youth but also the future generations,” he said at the grand finale of the Amaravati Quantum Valley Hackathon- 2025 (AQVH 2025) at Dhanekula Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET) at Ganguru near Vijayawada.

Institute Director D.K.R.K. Raviprasad said the event aimed at the promotion of innovation and enhancing students’ skills in cutting-edge domains such as quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum machine learning and optimisation.

The competition featured 10 major quantum themes, including quantum random number generator, quantum key distribution, quantum state visualisation, quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning and logistics optimisation. Students demonstrated working prototypes, quantum circuits, simulators, dashboards and optimisation models.

The hackathon saw participation of around 50,000 students from across six States. After evaluating their projects, the 100 best finalist teams were selected for the national-level grand finals. Each team comprises six members, resulting in 600 young innovators showcasing their talent.

Winners will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000 per problem statement, while runners-up will be awarded ₹30,000, along with national-level recognition and certificates. The prizes will be presented during the Amaravati Quantum Valley foundation stone-laying ceremony to be attended by the Chief Minister on Saturday.

Those who attended the event included Head, National Quantum Mission (NQM) J.B.V. Reddy, former Head, Quantum India, IBM L. Venkata Subramanyam, Head of the TCS and also the Head of the Amaravati Quantum Valley C.V. Sridhar, P. Emmanuel from MNIT-ECIT Academy, Jaipur and Dinakar from IBM-QISKIT, Bengaluru.
