A python created a mild flutter on board a train when passengers spotted the reptile in a washroom in one of the coaches of the moving train near Khammam on Monday (October 27, 2025) night.

A local person rescued the python from the Chennai-bound train which was halted at Khammam railway station for a few minutes, sources said.

Passengers on board the train heaved a sigh of relief following the swift response of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel that resulted in the safe rescue of the python. The train left Khammam railway station immediately after the quick rescue operation, sources added. It was not immediately known how the python made its way into the moving train.
