The post-mortem examination of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, an official of the warehousing corporation who died after accusing former Punjab Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar of harassing him, will be conducted in Amritsar on Tuesday (March 24, 2026), police said.

The autopsy will be conducted at the post-mortem house of the government medical college in Amritsar, a police official told reporters.

The official claimed that Randhawa’s family has agreed for the post-mortem examination.

A board of doctors will conduct the autopsy, which will be videographed, under the supervision of the executive magistrate, the official said, Randhawa’s cremation will take place later in the day.

The development comes a day after ex-Minister Bhullar was arrested from Mandi Gobindgarh on Monday (March 23, 2026).

Randhawa, the district manager of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation in Amritsar, allegedly ended his life early Saturday (March 21, 2026).

A video appeared in which he purportedly claimed harassment by Mr. Bhullar, who resigned as Minister later in the day at the direction of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann amid the row.

The Amritsar police on Saturday (March 21, 2026) night booked Bhullar, his father Sukhdev Singh Bhullar and personal assistant Dilbag Singh under Sections 108, 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) and 3 (5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Following Mr. Bhullar’s arrest, Randhawa’s family on Monday (March 23, 2026) had demanded a CBI probe into the circumstances that led to the official’s death.

The family also sought that the post-mortem examination be conducted by a panel of doctors under the supervision of a judicial magistrate.

The death of Randhawa had triggered a political row with opposition parties taking on the Mann government and jointly holding a protest, demanding the arrest of Bhullar and a CBI probe into the matter.
