The Telangana High Court on Tuesday extended till November 12 the interim protection granted to former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, former Minister T. Harish Rao, former Chief Secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi and IAS officer Smita Sabharwal in their separate pleas seeking a direction to set aside Justice (retired) P.C. Ghose Commission report.

When the writ petitions filed by them came up for hearing, Advocate General A. Sudarshan Reddy requested the bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin to grant some more time to file counter affidavits in the matter. Adjourning the hearing to November 12, the bench extended the interim order of not taking any adverse action against them based on the findings of the Commission which inquired into the allegations of irregularities in execution of the Kaleshwaram project.

Earlier, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr. Harish Rao, Mr. S.C. Joshi and Ms. Smita Sabharwal approached the HC at different points of time seeking directions to set aside the Commission report citing different grounds.
